Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA)
At its core, the SRIA objectives are to establish research priorities and activities to be undertaken, addressing the various stages of pandemic management. It revolves around three key dimensions: Prepare and Understand, Prevent and Anticipate, and Respond and Control. Furthermore, the SRIA takes into account both the inter-epidemic period, wherein research is conducted to ensure preparedness, and the crisis period, where an efficient and adaptive response is crucial. By adopting a holistic "One Health approach," encompassing human, animal, and environmental health, the SRIA encourages an integrated, transdisciplinary, and cross-sectoral approach to tackle emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases.
