The purpose of this meeting was to provide stakeholders, as well as European and international organizations engaged in pandemic preparedness, with detailed insights into the BE READY initiative and the development of the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA). The SRIA serves as a comprehensive guideline adopted by all EU Member States, facilitating coordinated efforts in pandemic/epidemic preparedness research and innovation while avoiding fragmentation.
So far, the webinar has been a success by welcoming 119 participants representing 70 organisations from 22 countries as well as representatives of the European Commission and the WHO.
The next step will be to include all gathered input and finally present the SRIA in the first on-site workshop in Vienna, Austria in January 2024.
